A ferry, a friend and a good time

I bike down the 70 km from Uusikaupunki to Turku in a little more than 3 hours and buy a ferry ticket for the next morning. Interesting: if you want to pay the ticket you have to pay an extra service fee of 5,- EUR unless you pay via a Finnish bank account...

Then I meet my couchsurfing host Thomas, the brother of my host in Nykarleby. He takes me as his guest although he has already two couchsurfers from England. We have a great diner all together and interesting, international conversations.

The next morning I get up early and head for the ferry. Checking in and boarding are no problem. I find a nice place with a view and free wifi. The trip takes nearly 11 hours and there is a lot to see because we are going via the Ålands and are passing by all these little islands. In Stockholm I leave the ferry and bike to Sollentuna, where I meet my host and friend Tomas again. Five weeks ago we were biking together North of Stockholm. I spend a good time with him again, bike around, stroll through Stockholm again, visit bike shops, join a couchsurfing meeting and make my plans for the next leg of my journey. The day before I leave Stockholm I meet my dad again who is now on his way sailing back to Germany. We enjoy coffee and good conversation in a harbour in the centre of Stockholm.

I buy a ticket to go to Tallinn, Estonia, and find a couch there to surf for a few days.

By the way: my foot is okay, no problems anymore. Thanks for all the good wishes I got.

A ferry a day, keeps the biking away. :)

Leuk hoor. Veel plezier nog! Groeten, Casper
